Indian Industry - Biotechnology
After the world conquerer IT industry, Biotechnology is believed to be the technology of future. It is the most promising and far-reaching industry and the whole world is keeping a sharp eye on it. India is well provided by its immense scientific talent, an established IT industry and booming pharma sector to emerge as the most significant contender for the global biotech control.

India is putting considerable effort on biotechnology. At the national level, the Department of Biotechnology, established in 1986 as part of the Ministry of Science and Technology in India, is responsible for biotechnology research and development and biotechnology-related manufacturing, including bio-safety regulation. It also acts as the government's agent for biotechnology imports. The department supports two autonomous laboratories, the National Institute of Immunobiology in New Delhi and the National Facility for Animal Tissue and Cell Culture in Pune, Maharashtra.

India has a huge market for products and services with its large population exceeding one billion. India has the most diversified varieties of flora and flora. It has about 7.6% of the total mammal species, 12.6% of bird species, 11.7& of fishes and about 6.0% of total flowering plants that are present in the world. Biotech companies can easily find samples, conduct researches and utilize the enriched resources of India. In addition to that, India has the largest agriculture sectors in the world, varied climatic conditions and enriched immense bio-diversity which can help in R & D of different agribiotech products applicable world-wide.
