Easy availability of Tickets:
Entry Tickets to the fair will be available at all Delhi Metro Stations, Mother Dairy outlets, Post Offices, and all DTC Depots including those at Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad besides the regular counters at the fair venue. In order to reduce the crowding factor at Pragati Maidan ticket counters, the entry tickets available at other outlets will be priced Rs. 5/- cheaper. Tickets will not be sold at any of the entry gates of Pragati Maidan on Mathura Road. Metro-Shuttle Coach:
A Metro-Shuttle coach combination will facilities easy access of visitors to and from Pragati Maidan during IITF. A number of shuttle coaches will be available at convenient intervals from the Central Secretariat Metro Station (between krishi Bhawan & Rail Bhawan) for transporting fair visitors arriving by metro from different points in the capital to the fair venue and vice versa. The fair entry tickets will also be made available at the select metro stations to obviate the need for queuing up outside Pragati Maidan counters.
Special Transport Service:
Special DTC bus services will be available (Pragati Maidan Special) to Pragati Maidan from Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Sonipat. Park & Ride facilities: Park & Ride facilities will be available at National Stadium, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Stadium -Velodrome Road apart from Central Secretariat Metro Station.
Parking facilities:
Additional parking space has been created this year for IITF 2006 with a total parking of over 6000 vehicles simultaneously. Park and Ride facility will be provided from the parking lots to the Fair Grounds.
Traffic Arrangements :
Two foot over bridges have been constructed at Mathura Road - Purana Quila Road and Bhagwan Dass Road intersection for easy pedestrian movement and decongestion of Mathura Road. Bhairon Road has already been widened and a slip road (near Matka Peer) to Mathura Road has been made in order to decongest traffic. Special gesture: School children in uniform, accompanied by teachers are allowed free entry during general visiting house on weekdays. As a special gesture, senior citizens and physically challenged persons are also being given the privilege of free entry. |
